Laura was born in Bogotá, Colombia. She was a visiting scholar with the Sustainable Transportation Systems Research Group during her senior year studying civil engineering at National University of Colombia, from the Undergraduate Research Experience Purdue-Colombia (UREP-C) program. Her interests includes public (mass) transportation, energy, and the impact of the transport in the environment.
